Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

I think I need to get him neutered?

Hi everyone,

Our Rabbit Loki has started to bite at my clothes. I know some places in the house he does this because I am in his way or on his territory :? but today, I have just been sitting where I always sit in the living room and he's come up to me and started to bite my top and pull and dig at it and then he growled when I tried to get him to stop!!!
I picked him up just to move him and he bit me :( It wasn't a nasty bite, it's not marked me so I don't think he meant it in a very nasty way.
He also pees on my cats...:)lol:) We have 2 cats. The dominate one hasn't accepted Loki but tolerates him. The other one has accepted him and Loki and him are usually together somewhere (they are sitting together in the window sill at the moment )

The vet estimated him to be around 2. I wasn't going to get him neutered because I didn't think it was a problem him not being neutered already but now with this start of aggression I am thinking this would be the best thing to do?
Is recovering from being neutered fast for rabbits? Do they need special looking after or anything?

my boys were done at 6 months (were spraying and bonking a lot) and they recovered very quickly. were eating well soon as came round and back to normal within couple of days. had to be restricted a little as vet said no mad running about for a week but otherwise very uneventful- and spraying/bonking stopped very soon too.

Yep, neutering would help with is behaviour. Though he sounds like he'll always be a bit cheeky

I think he knows I am not happy with him as he's in his hiding place  I'll ring the vets today and get him booked in :D
