Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

How long for pregnant rabbits...

Bean got into Belle and humped her for a split second this morning.. Turned out they were infact boy and girl. They're booked in to be neutered in 3 weeks time. Any chance she would be pregnant?? How long is a bun pregnancy and would the vet realise if she was pregnant before doing the op? I was cleaning them out and set up the run so they had half the bedroom each, but it wasn't as secure as i thought. I was keeping an eye on them as i was cleaning and i saw bean sneak through and immediately rushed over to split them up but he definately got about 3 little humps in before i pounced on them :(

Yup there is a good chance she is. Rabbits are pregnant for about 4 weeks only.
My Mo had his wicked way with Freezy for a split second. I didnt think much of it because right at THE moment, she chucked him of his back and certain stuff went flying!

Imagine my shock about 4 weeks later when I was in bed poorly and my ex came upstairs to say Freezy had babies! Sure she'd been building a nest but she'd do that at odd times throughout the year and I never thought anything of it. I would definitely make the vet aware of the posibility.

thanks guys that page is really helpful. I'm a bit scared i don't want her to be pregnant as Belle & Bean are brother and sister.. what complications does this involve?? I feel so guilty. Txting vet as we speak (she has to translate before she gets back to me). If i took her to the vet in a week or so would she be able to tell?

There is every chance she is pregnant - only takes seconds. If you waited 2 weeks, it would mean that she would be half way through her pregnancy.
