Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Young Bun
hello, ive just recently got 2 9weeks old boy bunnis, when do i need to get them vaccinated from vhd n mixi? how much will it cost and also how often do they need them?

Thanks!!

You can have your buns vaccinated asap and it will last a year. Sorry can't help with price as on the iow we are different!

The new mxy and vhd combination vaccine will last a year.

Some veterinary surgeries still have stocks of the separate vaccines. If your vet is one of those then I would get your bunny vaccinated for mxy first and then two weeks later for vhd.

Best of luck.:thumb:

Hi
The one I had done for my rabbit Harry last week cost just under £35.00. Cheaper than having them done separately.

There are three vets near me. One quoted £33 (per rabbit) for the combi vaccination, the second vet said £30 but the third vet quoted £24 each. I went for the cheaper option as I have three rabbits but it is worth shopping around for a good price.

ive got 2 local vets, so ill ring them tomorrow. also do they have any side affects i should b prepared for??:?

My bun got hers done last week...

for myxi is £22 and VHD is £18.50(need to wait for 2 weeks between them)

I have quote for a few local vets, prices from £13.50 to £22 (for myxi), £15 to £18.50 (for VHD)

I went for the most expensive one (£££) as my friend use the same vet....and she is always happy with him ;)

Unrelated to your original question, but do you keep them together? I just wanted to check that you know they'll likely start fighting when they hit puberty, unless you can get them both neutered early (i.e. when the testicles have dropped at least once so the vet can reach them, but before the testicles descend permanently).
