Are kidney problems genetic/Can they be prevented

Unfortunately a while ago I had to rehome a beautiful rabbit that belonged to my dad, and in her new home ended up with kidney failure, not long after she passed one of her daughters (belongs to my neighbor) has been at the vet with a UTI, I know urinary issues and kidneys can be linked, so i was just wondering if anyone knew if kidney problems are hereditary? And also, if so, I own another of her daughters and she seems perfectly healthy, but is there anything I can do to help prevent any problems in the future? Any special diets?

I would think EC was more likely than a congenital renal problem. EC effects the kidneys

UTIs are not always a precursor to kidney disease, but if they are associated with bladder sludge/stones then the kidneys can also be effected.

She was tested for EC (the mother with kidney failure) and it wasn't that

I'll try let the neighbors know, do you think it'd be worth them asking their vet?

What diet would be best to prevent sludge/stones?

Demi - Hadley was tested for ec and it was negative but I had panacured 6 mths previous - she may have had spores active prior to that and the damage to her kidneys already done.
She was always a bit spiney and had a couple of bouts of stasis? The vet def thought was ec related.

Her hubby is still on panacur for 6 weeks as a precaution before I think about bonding him
