Bonding Request -Cornwall/devon

Are there any rescues or experienced people/fosterers etc within a 2 hour drive (maybe a bit more) of the bottom of cornwall who will bond, for a donation of course?

I'm jumping the gun a little as my bunny has been very poorly and we are currently weaning him off of metacloprimide if he goes down hill again then obviously there is an underlying reason to his stasis but if not and he does fine once i've got the weight back on him i would really like to get him bonded as i've had him 6 months and tried unsuccesfully to bond them twice and would be much happier paying someone whose more experienced as i've only bonded once before and it was a very easy bond where as this one isnt.

I've done a few searches on the forum but can't find a section to post in with this request so thought this would be the most suitable.

Many thanks.

I really dont think that anyone will bond him for you.He sounds quite unwell and a bonding situation with new places and people may harm his very delicate system.
Is your bunny vet a savvy bunny vet?? I can recommend someone for you if you like...get your bunny over his problems.
You must be worried sick.

sorry i think you misunderstood (or i worded my original post wrong), i'm talking months or how ever long down the line when he's 100% better not any time soon! I wouldn't dream of trying to bond them or get any one else to bond them while he's still recovering! I'm not a bunny newbie and i understand how stressful bonding is for them.

We went for another check up at the vets today, He's doing very well at the moment and i'm hoping he will continue too, he's put a small amount of weight on s is eating lots of hay and normal food and producing a normal amount of poop i'm just hoping that once off of the meds he continues to do well and they aren't just masking another problem.

I have phoned every vet over the years and swapped practices numourous times, there is no super bunny savvy vet near me and while the practice owner made mistakes in his treatment one of the other vets didn't make any mistakes so i'm happy to keep using her in the mean time. I would welcome any suggestions for a bunny savvy vet but i'm 100% sure there just isn't any within a visable distance from me. (tr26 post code area)

Oh I see:D My mistake,Sorry.....Well, Im in Devon (south hams)...I would be willing to assist.
Just for your information, I see a rabbit specialist in Newton Abbot, http://www.abbotsvets.co.uk/
He has other vets refer animals to him..
Hope your bunster gets on ok.xx

easy mistake to make i always write in a rush and often don't make myself clear!

If sammy goes downhill again when coming off of the meds i will ask for a referral and take a look at the vets you just pointed out, it is a 2hour 35 min drive away sadly so a 5 hour round trip while i'd happily do that to save my bunster i obviously have to weigh up the stress of the journey ?

Cornwall is so far behind the rest of the country in everything not just veterinary care its frustrating! :(

I'm really really hopefully that it was a simple case of stasis ( though i cant for the life of me figure out the trigger?? nothings changed apart from the weather but they are kept in a garage and the boiler is in there so its temperature is pretty constant) and the vets mistakes prolonged his recovery, he's been weaned down to one metaclopromide a day since saturday and is still producing lots of poop and eating lots of hay and greenery, and is bright, alert, playful etc. He has his last injection of it tomorrow morning and then he'll just be on zantac and maybe a little metacam if needed and see how he does, so 48hours from now i shall hopefully know if he needs further diagnostics.

please see this thread, http://forums.rabbitrehome.org.uk/showthread.php?358069-Another-rabbit-or-not-!

I am purely considering all options at the moment for the future, i am in no rush to do anything anytime soon.

Thank you so much for your replies, much appreciated!

my vets just mentioned referring me to Ian sayers at this vets, but it will probably be a 7 hour round trip :( i'm not sure the bunnies up to that. Would he not advise over my vet the phone, do you know ? i dont mind paying a consult fee or something if he would take a look at my rabbits notes and offer some advise to my vets?

7 hours??? Surely not that much??
See Ian.Take the bunny.Believe me,its a trip and cash worth spent.

yes, i think it would take between 6 - 7 hours to drive there, have an appointment and drive back its 115 miles away from me :(

Hope bunny is going to be ok when he comes off his meds. I don't wish to be nosey but you mention a boiler in the garage. What type of boiler is it, is there any smell from it which might upset a rabbit? Just a thought.

i've already considered the boiler but its a normal boiler that you would normally have in the house, its only in the garage for space reasons. I have another rabbit in there thats in tip top shape so if it was that i would of thought she'd be having issues.
It doesn't give off any smells that i can pick up on with my nose, its only couple of years old as well. I have a co2 test in there just incase etc so i'm pretty sure its not the boiler. PLus they've been in there for 5 months and had no health issues up till now.
