  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

So I was down having after work cuddles with joey lol he came and jumped on my lap like he usually does and I was stroking him I looked down and see this:

Now I thought I read somewhere that this means they are scared so I put him back on the floor n he just came over and put his head on my knee like this wanting more strokes with the white thing in his eye gone, so I deffinantly do not think he was scared because he always comes to me to sit on my lap I never put him there

That's pretty big, has it definitely gone back on his left eye? Your second photo only shows the right.

Daisy's third eyelid is visible most of the time and sometimes it is bigger than others. We asked the vet and they said it was nothing to worry about, especially with bigger rabbits.

That's good to hear guys thanks :) he is a perfectly happy bunny shows no sign of illness but I will ask when I go to the vets with my other rabbit in October see if they think I should bring him in

It can be a response to fear. If it keeps popping out then it could be a sign of an underlying problem, but I wouldn't worry at this stage.
