My holiday in Cornwall

Wise Old Thumper
So...here's pics finally from my 11 day trip to Cornwall, in the south of England! I had such a great time, the weather was amazing the majority of my days, and I had great fun dogsitting Jed and Agatha the Scottie Dogs (they will get their own thread!). So here's some photos...

Day 1 I went to Dundee and met up with my grandparents. Day 2 we drove to the Lake District (almost in the middle of the country).

On the way to the Lake District, we stopped at a service station, where we had a nice walk around a big pond.

The geese decided we weren't worth speaking too as we had no food, so they made a beeline for those who did!

The ducks stayed close though

We got to Grange over Sands where we were staying...

And went to a duck pond where I found the most beautiful ducks!

The hotel has a peacock called Percy

Day 3

We went to Trelissick Park with the dogs, which was lovely.

That afternoon we went to Lands End, and I had Kinlochbervie (where I live) put on the signpost and the distance calculated - 844 MILES!

Sadly we didn't actually see the sea or cliffs, it was too misty!

The mist didn't clear, even though we waited, so we went back along the coast and saw St Michaels Mount

That night, there was a pheasant in the garden, he posed beautifully!

I'm going to put day 10 in a seperate thread.

I do miss the Cornish beaches, they are so beautiful. I used to be able to see St. Michael's Mount from my bedroom window when I lived in Grumbla, Sancreed. You sure need fog lights in West Penwith though.

Great photos! :) I went to nearly all those places a few weeks ago! Seems strange seeing them again! :D

We went to Lands End, St Micheal's Mount, Falmouth (we went to the maritime museum), Bedruthen Steps, Newquay and Port Isaac !! :D

I love Cornwall

Lovely photos, looks like you had a great time :)

We are also just back from cornwall although we didn't get much of the trips we had planned done, only made it to St Ives really although we briefly visited newquay, padstow and lands end (on a previous visit we made it to the eden project and marazion-though the castle was closed and the tide was coming in so we couldn't even cross to the island!). We were staying at Gwithian Towans which is near Hayle :)

I was replying to your Facebook message in Port Isaac  :D

Aw cool :thumb: I remember you commented on one of my photos saying you were going there, glad you had a nice time! :D
