Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

stressful moulting

I read some of the threads around but I didn't find anything useful for my situation, so a little question - Chrissi is moulting pretty much right now. Having in mind that she had a lot of health problems and that she is finally stable now, I am afraid of her swallowing fur while licking herself. Her tummy was slightly noisy today so I am afraid she may end up having problems because of the fur. So I try to help her-but as always, she is horrified. I pull slowly fur with my finger, she runs and looks scared. When I clean her with rabbit wet wipes, she so-so takes it, although no fur goes on them:D I tried a bit with a soft toothbrush, she totally hates it! If a thing like a toothbrush annoys her what is left for the other combing systems! They look absolutely scary! So, some advice for a stubborn moulting bun?

Hello:wave: My Lucy is moulting pretty heavily too. She also hates being brushed and tries to bite my hand every time I try to comb her. Try to stroke your bunny with wet hands, I guess that would be less stressful. You can also try to place her somewhere safe and comb her gently. That helps for my Lucy and believe me she's a cowardly one. Hope I helped and good luck for you both;)
