  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Jack's Jane. Need you. Leaving soon.

Is there any test that I should ask for Julie to have besides a dental check? Last time I took her for choking $500 later nothing was found. Said she eats too fast. Now though she drools like crazy while eating so I have a video of this morning's breakfast to show her. I have videos of of slipping too....not being able to stand without sliding to a lying down. That was thought to be aging weakness in her legs. This is the good vet but any input from you on ideas or test will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Throw any ideas out there.

Not JJ but just wanted to send you some get well wishes for Julie. With what you've described I would expect a VERY thorough examination. The videos are a great idea too. x

I'd probably ask for a comprehensive oral/Dental examination
An oropharyngeal endoscopy may be helpful but it may need to be done by a specialist Vet

GI tract motility needs to be considered too

A blood profile may shed some light on to whether there is any inflammation/infection going on

Good luck xx
