Can dermisol cream be used on sore hocks, seen it on animed and it sounds really good.. thought it may be better than sudocream for lavender?

ive used it on just about every skin burn scrape etc on my buns..even used it on myself when i ran out of sudocrem till the next shopping delivery slot! its amazing stuff but i would ring and check with your vet first as it doesnt soothe as much as sudocrem..but healing i have found on raw bitten tails...necks.....back.....etc to be fantastic. but usually baytril as a precaution with it.

ive only ever had one bunny with pretty sore hocks...she was a dwarf lop with big fluffy boots...but she ran round the house and up and diwn the stairs playing wilderbeastbof the serengeti with her three cat friends...she got carpet burnsvand thereforesore hocks!

the vet did think it amusing but tried not tomlaugh at how shed got her feet sore. it was a regime of hibiscrub and perhaps it was dermasol....they used to buy a product and divude it up i to pots to save the owners money and themselves.

good luck.

The vet who treated her is on holiday now until after next weekend so ill leave her on sudocream until she goes for her check up when he's back. She's on baytril at present x

I used Dermasol on a big raw wound. It seems to allow healing whilst stopping the formation of a hard scab that can break and re-infect. The healing process looks quite strange - it looked to me like it wasn't healing at all by day 4, but then there started to appear white mushy stuff around the edges of the wound, which actually turned out to be new skin. The wound quickly got smaller and smaller as the new skin grew.

I've never heard of it used on sore hocks, but it is absolutely brilliant on other wounds so it may work. I'd ring the vet too to check, and let us know if it works!

Hmmm - I don't think I'd use it on sore hocks. Dermisol cream is designed to speed the healing process by helping to get rid of dead and necrotic tissue. It is not, in itself, a 'healing' cream. I'd stick to something like Sudocrem myself. I used Dermisol on myself recently as I had a major crash on my racing bike leading to an 'up close and personal' moment with the tarmac . It did a lovely job with the scabs on my elbow .
