Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Separated two different sexed bunnies, 12 weeks, male wanting to hump female. He got into her side of the pen don't know how long he's been there no obvious signs of fighting they were just lying together, separated them again checked them both over no blood anymore but there is drops of blood all over the floor!! Help  do rabbits have periods?? I know they don't have seasons.. can't get to a vet untill tomorrow morning and even then i don't know if they'll see me straight away here

Are you sure it's not urine? Certain foods can discolour their urine and make it very red. Bunnies don't have periods you are right. Are they both eating well?

no don't think it's urine it's in small dots everywhere and they have a good diet i am so worried! It is a reddy brown

Mop some up with some toilet or kitchen roll, if it's blood it will clot. It's a natural thing for their urine to change colour, healthy foods such as dandelion can make it red.

If it is blood and it's only a few drops could one of them have caught a nail on something? It happens sometimes and as long as the bleeding stops it isn't an issue.

It has already dried into the mat i have to cover the tiles so i can't tell with kitchen roll :( i didn't check on them for a few hours because i thought they couldn't get to each other. Hopefully it is just a nail then i think it has stopped there's no fresh blood anywhere as far as i can tell. Thankyou

A nail is the most obvious cause especially as there was fighting. Make extra sure they can't get to one another. Some males look very much like females until they get their testicles whiich should be anytime between now and 14 weeks. Sounds like 2 boys! Boys can kill one another so please be vigilant.

I've had that with one of mine and it bleeds a lot, check his man area

Edited as full post didn't type out - she may have bitten his man parts if he was humping her face
