  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Is this normal? :?

Hi all,
So my male bunny (about 1 year and a few months old) has quite large testicles. I'm not sure if it is normal and I'm worried it may be an infection or something, but I dont want to keep calling my vet about things that usually aren't serious (I'm very cautious). So I thought I might post on here to see if anyone can help :thumb:

This is what it looks like:

My rabbits had tiny testicles  I do remember seeing a rabbit on here who had massive ones though  but I'm not sure :) Get em snipped ;) If you're worried about it then I would take him to the vet so they can see for themselves, I'm sure someone will know though :p

Sorry, not sure! Domino was done early because he was 'very over-developed for such a young age!'~ quote from vet!

My boy had even bigger ones than this  I thought it was normal though, it's 17months since he was castrated so they weren't big as a result of anything like myxi and the vet didn't comment on anything unusual after.... I'd have thought your boys were normal, but I'm not an expert or anything!

I was only posting this as I haven't seen a male rabbits 'area' before and was just checking it was all normal ;)
