Who lives in a hutch like this...?

Summer&Skye

Mama Doe
From the outside of this property, we can see that it is a fairly unassuming, well sized, wooden built detached hutch...

You can see that security is an important issue to these occupants, as is protection from the often harsh British weather, with the addition of a Perspex window...

As we open the doors, we enter the main living area, with it's mix of traditional pieces, such as the cast iron hay rack, and modern installments such as the cosy loft bed. The bare wooden walls have been complimented with painted floorboards and skirting boards, in keeping with the palette of soft greens, creating a calm and fresh environment...

If we take a look below the loft bed, to the left we have the entrance to the private quarters, and to the right we have the stylish dining area, complete with colour coordinated dining set...

As we open the door revealing the private quarters, we see a slightly more modern style, with the addition of this stylish, second hay dispenser, positioned over the large and practical litter tray...

So there you have it, so who does live in a hutch like this...??
Clearly no one yet as its far too neat and there's no hay or food in it

Next week we'll be back to view the properties grounds, and we will meet the new occupants as they settle into their new home

(Sorry pics have come out so BIG  Hope u can all view them ok)

Thanks  I'm not sure how long it will look that nice  Walked round Ikea yesterday with some very practical flat, very slightly padded seat cushions and saw these on way to tills and came out with 2 very fat comfy cosy seat cushions that'll prob be pooped on and chewed to shreds  (webt in looking for 'mats' came out with cushions!!) Will be adding a few more toys and bits, couldn't find where iv put my hooks as I wanted to hang a couple more things up!

Love the loft bed. Did you add that yourself?

Yes, I had a shelving/shoe rack thing (about £15 from argos) and I just removed 2 shelves (they're made from slats) and repositioned some of the slats. Luckily it fitted perfectly in the hutch! A couple of bricks (painted of course ) were needed on one side to level it up (also perfect size!) And I also used one of the slats across the back of the hutch to hold the hay rack, and this slat also fitted perfectly!! I think someone was looking down on me :thumb:

Oh wow very nice :) I am sure the buns will be more then happy in their perfectly designed home

I may have to steal that bed idea ;)

Feel free!! Maybe wait and c how it holds out and if they actually use it  I put the Perspex up to stop the cushions getting wet  Thankfully tho the hutch must be in a good position as we had awful rain yesterday and it wasnt wet inside (even before I put the window in!)

Wow. This is one of the best hutch set ups ive seen!
Should be standard issue for pet shops.

Aaw thanks that's made my day  It's been a lot of hard work and iv done little else with my week off so far and my own house is a tip but it's been a labour of love

Reminds me of a youth hostel I stayed at in Sete- the beds were build into the room like that. I bet the excited buns can't wait to chew your hard work and flip their food bowls over:D I'd never thought of a bunk bed for a bun- might have to steal your idea too. I did see a hammock once- they'll soon have more cushy lives than humans. You'll have to ask Lloyd Grossman kindly to do a through the mesh video for you.

Haha! Through the mesh, I love it.

It was only supposed to be an extra level to hop onto and sit underneath but as the shelves are slats, I thought I should put something over it in case the bunnies feet get caught in the gaps, so went out looking for some kind of mat and came back with cushions! Don't worry, I am fully expecting them to chew it! None of mine r hutch chewers thankfully but I won't hold my breath for the cushions!
