I used to have this problem with Princess, she used to hate it, now she loves it, as she is a lion head her hair gets quite matted so I have to brush it, she hated the big brush that I used before, but I called in to Wilkinsons at the pet department and they had a set of 3 small brushes, one was a comb to get the knots out, the other with a brush that got the dead hairs out and then lastly there was a smooth brush thing that shined up her hair, she loves this set, it's only about £5
