Ideas for seperating up hutch and run....

clarebear

Mama Doe
This is our current set up for our bunnies, which Simon built for them last year. They were until a couple of months ago sharing the hutch and run, but since Bramble has been poorly we moved him indoors and Bungee has had the hutch and run all to herself!

We've now decided to put Bramble back outiside, but don't want to bond him with Bungee again quite yet, so ideally we would like to seperate the hutch and run so they can both live side by side....semi detached style. The problem is how to do it?....Any ideas? :?

Bungee says 'Hello'....she is waiting for Bramble to come home from the vets!

Tricky. Obviously because it's such a nice set up you don't want to ruin it. Perhaps place a piece of heavy wood down the centre of the hutch? Or make a mesh panel and nail it in to separate the two sides? For the hutch maybe you could fence off the lower floor so that one of the buns can have the top layer and the, ladder space on the lower floor and the other have the space on the lower floor where the ramp isn't there? Hope you get my idea difficult to explain someone else will hopefully come and share their bright and expert ideas with you soon. :D

That's kind of what we were thinking! The other option was to make the hutches seperate from the run, and have one bun upstairs and one bun downstairs. Then split the run in two, and put them into the run every morning......?

Turning into a nightmare!! Simon spent ages yesterday starting to divide up the run, and has now realised that it's not going to work.....we are getting so stressed out about it! :(
