Zinzan's 10 years old and has a bad head tilt from EC plus retrobulbar abscess (stable) and is blind. (I know - lucky girl!! :s)
Today I was giving her a bottom bath which I do routinely every couple of days as she's incontinent and has difficulty cleaning herself due to her headtilt. I noticed that she had what i imagine to be a rectal prolapse - a red circular "rosebud" protruding from her bottom. While I was bathing her it did go back in and seems to have stayed in. She's toileting normally and eating normally.
I'll be taking her to the vet but is there any point treating a prolapse in a rabbit this age and this disabled or is it best to just keep her comfortable and make sure it's clean and doesn't get sore and dry? Is there even anything they would be able to do for her?
