  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Fed up Harvey:-(

I got my male Harvey neutered on Wednesday and it went well.He is eating, pooing etc.I am a bit wary about letting him in his run though. His run is on concrete with a thin layer of bark chips and I am worried that he might hurt himself but he is looking really miserable being shut in.He goes mad in his run though,he usually runs around the perimeter at full speed flying and jumping over his tunnels and toys and if he does this he might damage himself!I feel so sorry for him though, sitting at the door looking out.It has only been 48 hours, will it be Ok to let him in his run tomorrow? This is the first time I have had a neutered rabbit so I am not sure, the vet didn't give a length of time for cage rest:)

My 2 boys were back in action the next day :thumb: well... The same day but I wanted to keep an eye on them overnight.

Can get take the clippings out for a few days if that's worrying you?
