  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Lily was given a course of metacam for sneezing back in April, the vet checked her over and listened to everything and couldnt hear anything to indicate a problem...however she has always been scrawny and thin but is gradually putting weight on rather than loosing or staying the same...

Well since her course of metacam back in April iv only noticed a couple of sporadic sneezes and she has been eating fine etc but then tonight i noticed a dark discharge from her nose...I couldnt get a close look as she isnt too thrilled with the idea of being picked up at all :? but while I was hand feeding her a crunchie I got a fair look and it was out of both sides of her nose and in the fur :(

She is about 7 months and not yet spayed, I need to take her back to the vet to have her checked over to see if she can be spayed yet so I will just make the appt for tomorow and get them to check her over but Im worried sick about her...could it be snuffles that she will have to cope with forever? :(
