Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

The new double vaccanation

Hi, I have had my bun for around a year now and he has had his vhd and his 6 months myxi. He is due his myxi at the end of this month and his vhd in august. The vets have booked him in tomorrow for the new double vaccanation. I asked if this was ok as he has had his vhd and myxi seperately in the past and she said it was fine.

Has anyone had the new jab, if so would you recommend it? I`m a little nervous about it as so far (touch wood) I haven`t had any problems with both my bunnies and I don`t want this jab to cause any.

Thanks

yes mne have had the new jab and had it brough forward, ie they wouldn;t of been due their vhd till xmas, but was told it was fine to do the new combi, they are both well

Hi there. Freddie went for his 6 month myxi and the vet had ran out of the single vaccine so he had the 12 month double. He has been fine since having it in May so I wouldn't be too worried xxx

My two also had the combined vaccine 6 months after having the Myxi and VHD single vaccines and both were fine :)
