  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Anyone used 'house sitters' before??

To cut a long story short, it now looks like the lady boarding my four bunnies might not take them due to an eye problem with little Pixie (under the vets and on meds etc). I'm now thinking of a plan B as we're due to go on holiday soon. Can anybody recommend a house sitter at all who covers the Essex area?? I've never used anybody like this so I'd rather use someone recommended if possible. I would try my neighbours but they always have grandchildren visiting and I just know the bunnies would hate that. Also most of my family members are also on their hols too at the same time. Many thanks guys

I'm a house sitter, but unfortunately I am too far away for you.

Perhaps your local vets/petshops will be able to recommend someone.

Google 'house/pet sitters'.

You will need to meet them beforehand and discuss your needs and expectations. If you get the time, try to get quotes etc from two different companies/people.

Best of luck. I hope you manage to find someone suitable.................and very bunny savvy.:thumb:

Many thanks for your reply, I really do need someone 'rabbit savvy' due to their health issues at the moment. I'm off to the vets tomorrow so will ask them about pet sitters as you never know perhaps one of the nurses will be happy to do it.

I know that some of the vet nurses at the practice that I use happily do bunny sitting.

Best of luck.:thumb:

Here's a thought.......why not start a thread in rabbit chat ,and see whether or not a RU member living close to you would be willing to help out?

Worth a try.
