He has a ridiculous mouth where his teeth have moved horrendously. He was going every 2 weeks 2 days between dentals and not ever being really himself, but being 'ok'. Last time we got him up to three weeks and that was on Monday (with the aid of Tramadol) and he's been great! Today he is mopey and sad and not eating much of anything. I have nothing else to pull out of my bag for him. It's 4 days since his dental and he is maxed out on everything and he has been really good since going on the Tramadol. He hates all the interference from me but has been tolerating it well, but couldn't with anymore, especially injections.
I wish I could fix him.
If he has something like an abscess he will be allowed to go tonight. As for the rest? and other options? I don't know.
It's his molars so that doesn't seem like a feasible option and none of the vets I have spoken to (including a specialist) think it's appropriate for him. We have also discussed the pulpectomy and that's not an option either for his kind of problem. Also, he's a REALLY fussy eater. He won't even eat mushy pellets. Since a tiny, weeny baby his favourite has always been hay and more hay (which is why this is so cruel) and he doesn't have the approach of trying new things. Today he has eaten apple leaves and pets at home herb junk stuff. I tried a similar diet to what Jenova gives Grim and Star looked at me like I was trying to kill him!
