Gone off his greens

Does anyone elses buns go off certain foods or is it just Bobak?! He's decided this week that all his favourite greens (parsley, dandelion leaves, mint, grass) are rubbish and will only eat carrots and pellets? Normally he goes crazy when I get home with a new bunch of parsley but he just ignored it. I left him for a few hours but he refused to eat it. I worry about him going into stasis (last time was awful and we nearly lost him :() so I gave him a small bit of carrot which he devoured instantly! I then let him have a few extra pellets which he practically inhaled! Normally I'd guess it was dental time again (he gets spurs on both sides at the back) but he had them checked last week and all OK.

Dusty is hoovering up any left over greens as well as her normal food

I'm slightly concerned. Any suggestions?

I think they do go off stuff. Doughnut stopped eating, was in pain, hunched over one morning and didn't want her pellets. Took her to the vets and she had gas, then she was all OK after a few injections. 6 weeks later her poops were small and not a lot of them, I panicked went to the vets who referred me to the specialists who tested her for all sorts and kept overnight. Apparently she was the healthiest rabbit there and hadn't stopped eating the day after. The specialist said that no to worry unless they haven't eaten for about a day as they tend to eat at dawn and dusk. Doughnut seems to eat non stop so that's why I panicked. Also she said they don't always fancy the same thing, a bit like us I guess.

If your rabbit's eating carrots and pellets then it's fine but to keep an eye on it. Obviously it's better if it's eating hay and is going to choose carrot and pellets over that! I've now introduced dill to her diet as that's good for gas but she went off it abou a month ago. Now she's back to eating it. I also introduced bramble leaves and also rose leaves as they are good for digestion and speeds it up. I'm trying to get her on a more natural diet now. I do find that when she's ill she doesn't eat pellets whereas normally she begs non-stop for them.

Hope this helps!

Thanks! I forgot to mention that both buns have access to unlimited hay. Dusty is a big hay lover whereas Bobak isn't. When his teeth are causing him problems he stops eating pellets too. As he's still eating pellets I'm not too worried and hoping he's just having a strange few days! He is a very fussy little boy sometimes. Dusty on the other hand will eat anything!! They're back to the vets on Tuesday for Dusty's VHD booster so I'll ask the vet to check him over while we're there :)

I'm pleased Doughnut is back to eating dill after her gas episode. I've even bought some peppermint to grow as that's good for gas but don't think she's keen. I guess it's nice for them to have a variation.
