Oh no

How is the gorgeous man in himself?

Sending loads of vibes for him xxxxxxx

He is eating OK and he has regained all the weight he lost. But he has just never regained the 'Sir Victorness', the vibrance, the sparkle.
You'd have to actually know him to see what I mean.

He still has the strange mass/thickening which in not in his intestines, it is just below his right kidney. It is painless when palpated firmly.

The options are a long (for him) car journey to get an U/S done (Xray inconclusive) But even an U/S may not be that helpful and our Vet seems to think that opening him up is the only way we are really going to find out what the mass/thickening is. However, she is very reluctant to proceed with invasive surgery.

I know that some people think I am melodramatic about my Rabbits problems, but I really am very, very worried for Victor

Jane, I do not think you are melodramatic about your bunnies at all. You love them and want to do the best for them.

I know what you mean about that "Sir Victorness", that naughtiness that you love so much. You have a brilliant vet and between you, you will make the right decision for Sir Victor.

Hugs x

ETA - are there any more local vets that have an u/s who would mind doing it?

I'm so sorry Sir Victor is still poorly :( you are not being melodramatic at all, I am exactly the same with my rabbits, sometimes nobody else can see anything wrong with them at all, but I know them so well that the slightest difference I know something is amiss. It's only because we love them so much.
Do you not think Victor could cope with surgery right now?
Sending millions of vibes for him and hugs for you xx

So very sorry to hear that Sir Victor is still poorly and not recovering as you would like. I wonder if he really does have a tumour/mass now :? I hope that is not the case and there is still some way to help him. Big hugs you must be very worried xx

Loads of vibes for Sir Victor. Could he tolerate the car journey for an ultrasound or is that not really an option?

He has to go onto oxygen after a 8 minute car journey to our usual Vets. It would take a good 40 minutes to get to the other surgery. I dread to think what state he would get into

Of course your not being melodramatic. We all know how hard it can be to sometimes find out why or what is causing their illness.

I really hope there is a solution. Millions of vibes for Sir Victor.

Oh no  I was made up to hear he was putting on way and seemed to be improving... What a blow. I hope you can figure out some way to get him to the other surgery? Could he be sedated? Just slightly, just to take the edge of transporting ? Sending vibes to you. He's strong xxx

Oh no  I know my vets sometimes use a travelling US specialist, she brings the stuff to the surgery. I think she's specifically a heart US specialist, but maybe there's someone like that in your area? Hope you can find a solution. Sending lots of vibes for Sir Victor xx

:cry::cry: Well I can see that's absolutely a last resort then. I was thinking the same as Capt Helen, might there be a surgery with portable ultrasound equipment? Would your vets know if that was a possibility?

Not within my affordability

I have just examined Victor and he now has a very abnormal heart rate and rhythm

I have a theory as to what is going on and it is unrelated to the mass/thickening. If I am right (which I hope I am not) then there will be nothing surgical that will help  A certain type of drugs may buy him more time, but that is all

Waiting for C to call me back
