Are repetitive & destructive behaviours a sign of stress

I have a single bunny called Bugsy has failed to bond with other rabbits hence he lives on his own. I have become increasingly concerned about his behaviour recently. Even though he has a large accommodation with boxes of hay, tubes, levels, hideyholes etc I think he is unhappy :( he has been going through some repetitive behaviours like repeatedly scratching at certain spots on the walls and just generally being destructive when most of the time he is quite tidy. Do you think these behaviours are a sign of stress or boredom? :?

IMO it sounds more like boredom.

Have you tried letting a rescue find a suitable companion for him.

Worth a try?

He is on the bonding waiting list of my local rescue but they are very busy, also theres waiting for a suitable rabbit to come up plus hes a tricky one to bond so I don't think he will have a friend anythime soon :(
