  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

I got some from vets but worried as vet didn't seem too keen on it for bunnies. just wondered what general view is.

Why did the vet say that they were not keen?

It is made for Rabbits so I don't get why the vet would say that!

I saw leaflet in vets about it protecting rabbits from worms. the packet says dogs and cats and need to give orally for 28 days.

Didn't they give you the rabbit one? :?

You can give the dog one but I think the dosage is different :? hopefully someone will be able to advise you on here, or you can ask your vet for the rabbit one

Hmm now that is worrying! Always used this vets surgery. does anyone know of rabbit expert vets in bury st Edmunds? i can't believe they gave me wrong one!

I had a lot of problems with the rabbit panacur when doing the 28 day course for EC. My fab vet gave me the aniseed one the next time and the buns adored it, they ate it off a spoon every time
