i am absolutely devastated
both Angus and Rosie seemed to be doing really well. we always were slightly worried over Rosie having a snotty nose and she was very snuffly. Mick at the rescue had decided to take her to see his specialist in Harrogate as regular vet visits hadn't helped.
both buns were fine yesterday morning, i left them with the run up to the hutch and munching dandelion leaves. at 4.30 my OH called to say Rosie seemed to have collapsed and was twitching.
i raced home from work to find her flat out and unresponsive and knew it wasn't good. i rushed her to the vet who said she was very cold and her heart beat was very faint. they tried to warm her up and gave her steroids but she was unresponsive and getting weaker. she started fitting so i made the awful decesion to let her go.
i let Angus say his goodbyes and he is eating and seems ok if not a little lonely today. we have no idea what poor wee Rosie died from, my vet thinks it was respiratory problems but we are watching Angus carefully just in case it was vhd.
Mick kept telling me she was the worst to come out of there, she was painfully thin and snotty but i thought we had her over the worst. she had such spirit and mischief and the only thing i am glad of is for the last 8 weeks she knew what it was to have care, love and happiness in her short little life.
RIP Rosie. x
