Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Is this normal......?!?!

Hey!
My male rabbit "grunts" loudly at me when he circles me or wants attention, which i obviously know is a normal thing for a rabbit to do!
But the last few days it has become a lot louder and more croaky and he seems to be doing it all the time.
It almost sounds like he has a blocked up nose and and a phlegmy chest!
He is 4 months old now, and my partner thinks it could be that he is getting more amorous, but he has been for a while already, I possibly think it could be more....
He is eating and seems absolutely fine in himself otherwise apart from the terrible noise!
Does anybody know if this is normal?! I have had several rabbits in the past and never heard this noise! Any ideas?!

i'd say he is getting a little bit amorous!

getting him neutered with calm him down. i just went through the same thing with one of my fosters, he was circling, grunting and honking at me! i had him done 3 weeks ago and he has totally stopped now. :)

Definitely sounds hormonal. He can be neutered once his testicles make an appearance!!

Phew! This is good to hear!
My vet wont neuter him for another month :(
Will have to get used to the noise I guess lol!
Just worried I'm going to squash him under my feet with all the circling, he is like my little shadow!
