  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Could this be mites???

Poor little Pixie I think now has mites. She's had weepy eyes too the last three weeks and now this. Her eye's are now drying up nicely after trying different eye drops and constent antibiotic jabs too - poor darling. Anyway, when checking her over last night she has bald spots on the inside of her legs and a bit of her belly too. The skin isn't inflamed or crusty or sore in any way just bald. Could this be mites or something else. I'm worring about possible ringworm as I had this a couple of months ago and it was terrible to get rid off. I've also noticed one of my other buns Blossom has a bear belly too exactly the same as Pixie's not sore just bald. Neither of them have contact with eachother as don't live together. Any ideas guys, we're all off to the vets in the morning so will get the vet to check them all over but just wondered if any of you may know what it is so I can grill the vet with lots of questions etc :thumb:

Hello there. I don't know what might be causing the bald patches but i'm sure your vet will be able to diagnose it. Hope you soon get it sorted out.
