Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

emeprid solution by syringe in mouth. Ok if you can catch her..HELP!!!

rescue buns

Warren Scout
I posted yesterday about finding my bun Rebecca shivering and not eating. Got app at vet and she was kept in for 24hours and i collected her today. She was giving a gut stimulant and i have to give her 2 lots of 0.8mls of emeprid by syringe in mouth today before i go back tomorow with her to make sure still ok. They dont know what problem was, maybe because i started to introduce excel pellets into muesli or reaction to immunisation. Anyway im having bother trying to catch her. She absolutely hates getting hold and runs the minute i go near her(like trying to catch a mouse!0:roll: Tried using towel over her head but the minute i go to hold her down she leaps. Caught her once and my mum tried to get syringe in her mouth but her head moves so much were we unable. She ended up in corner frightened of us :( Wee shame. Im hoping with OH comes in we will manage. So my question is. Should i give her 2 doses tonight or just one dose and she will miss a dose? Any tips for catching a very fast, leaping, scratching scared bun? I looked on you tube for how to syringe feed meds and i so wish my buns were relaxed as the buns there, are they doped up to play a good role:shock: My buns are awaiting a spay so that doesnt help i suppose. Fiesty:evil:

You could try putting it on herbs, mixing it with baby food, injecting it into a piece of banana?
