Opinions on 'Hoppy Hour' (as featured on Disapproving Rabbits)

I really enjoyed watching their latest clip of their buns at Hoppy Hour but struggle to believe what I'm seeing.
All the rabbits seem to just cruise about exploring & some even binky.
There don't seem to be any scuffles.
I can't imagine either of my two behaving well enough with other buns to be allowed to come back.
Why do you think these meets actually work?
Do you think most buns put in this situation cope or are these buns the exception?
Have any of you ever been involved in this type of thing?

I'm sure there's someone on here who has a large group of rabbits who she splits into two groups at night but they all roam together in the day. I could be making that up though

Yes there is & whilst thats similar its always the same buns meeting up every day, whereas this Hoppy Hour thing could be anybun & its still seems to work really well even just with a few human 'police' to intervene.

I think its a terrible idea. Rabbits should have permenantly bonded friends, not forced to socialise with strange rabbits, which in the wild would be intruders from a different warren.

I think it is a stressful positition to put them in, not only is it a strange, large, open space with few corners/hiding areas but it is filled with strange rabbits. Plus, if they do make a friend and start to bond, they are then forced away from each other - again this is stressful. And think about the potential of spreading disease/snuffles/EC!

I wouldnt let my rabbits take part in something like that if you paid me. This seems to be for the owner's enjoyment, not the rabbits' welfare.

edit: I think the reason there doesnt seem to be any, or little, aggression is because there are so many of them, which would diffuse the situation, there are too many strangers to choose from, so no one rabbit gets particularly focussed on, as the rabbit has to remain wary of them all.

Yes I do agree with this perspective & its not something I'd choose for my buns. I am interested to know why people would do this sort of thing however, as I suspect these are people who largely consider themselves caring owners.
I'm pretty sure all buns have to be vaccinated, desexed not showing signs of illness etc
Am really curious as why there isn't any fighting though. But this is probably as you suggest down to the sheer numbers of rabbits.
