  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

will my window unit cause his nose to dry out, or giv him breathin problems? he is an albino san juan, 2 months old. i cant ask my vet cuz this bakwoods place dont hav a bunny doc n the vet we hav said they dont kno, n wen i asked if he needed vaccinations they said no !!!!!! so im scared n dont kno wat to do, he has had a couple fleas on him too, n i dont kno how to get them off him, iv only seen 2 so far n i pick em off, but im afraid to put cat flea stuff on him. btw, my cat hates ac n stays out wen its on. the bunny stays in the cage cept every other night wen we get him out to play n get him used to us, we interact w him all the time i got 3 kids, he is used to foot traffic, n we pet him in the cage alot. anyways im tryin gto do everythin right so he lives along time, i google about bunys alot. im about to turn on the ac soon, but i dont kno if it will hurt him, this trailer is very close to the road n lots of dust. i try to keep him cool but im afraid to put him in the ac.

Im probably not much help because mine isn't a window AC, we've got an AC unit so all rooms of the house get AC, but none of my pets are affected by it. We run it pretty much 24/7 since we live in florida.

Just make sure he isn't where it blows on him. AC removes humidity from the air - is that why you're about his nose drying out? If you think it'll dry his nose out you could get a humidifier if there's not much humidity where you live.

I am sure it will be fine, the cool air will be welcomed but three nose may startle him at first.:wave:
