I was in a bad mood before rabbits got mentioned....

Just went to buy a TV from Currys. While sat waiting, I said to OH that my Mum had wrote on my facebook about a rabbit she had tried to catch in my Nannas garden. Sales womas pipes up....

"Catching rabbits is easy, you just grab them by the scruff then hold them by it and put your hand under their bum"

Me - "Actually rabbits don't have scruffs, you can't scruff a rabbit and it will hurt it"

Her - "No, you can as long as you put a hand under the bum too"

Me - "NO.. you can't"

Her - "blah blah blah you can blah"

I didnt even want to ask! She was on about holding them on their back like a baby :shock:

I would have walked out and got my TV elsewhere.

It sounds like the way they were picking up the rabbits in the film the Christmas Bunny, it looks awful to me.

She probably just had oudated advice. When I was a child that's how we were taught to handle bunnies. It was only coming on here in later life that I leaned the "scoop under the front paws and support the bum method".
