  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Lethargic Bunny, little bit of weird poop.

Young Bun
Hi,
My bunny is lethargic from last 2 days. He used to play a lot in dusk and dawn but now he is just sleeping and plays very less, around half of what he used to before. He is eating fine, He doesn't drink water so I can't say, I clean his bowl daily and put new water but he never ever drank it. I thought its just that he is not in mood, but today I noticed some small poop of different shape and also saw his stinky yellow tail which used to be purely white.
Please give me advice!!!
I don;t have a rabbit savvy vet in my city in India, Please tell me what should I do! :(

i would suggest that you need to syringe him water directly into the mouth, and take him to the vet and see what they say, despite the fact they may not be rabbit savvy. they may have an idea what is going on. good luck with it all, i hope it turns out ok.

I seem to remember from a previous post that you had found a vet and were getting your rabbit neutered. Is he recovering from that?
He really needs to see a vet urgently as rabbits can go downhill so quickly.
