Ashleigh Vets, Manchester- New Vaccine?

Hello there, my fellow Mancunions on this lovely rainy Manchester day!

I'm just looking for some info on Ashleigh Vets. I've heard it's fantastic for bunnies but was wondering how expensive it is and if it has the new vaccine?

My two are due their top ups, and I don't think my current vet (PDSA, Trafford) will offer the combined yet, given that their care is quite basic. I've heard that the combi works out cheaper in the long run though, so think it'd be worth a try. How much do Ashleigh's charge for vaccs, does anyone know?

Thank you in advance! :thumb:

It's been a few months since I last went but I think it was quite expensive compared to some (around £25 mark) but they do a full checkup. I was in over an hour with four buns. I'd definitely recommend them! Not sure if they're doing the new vaccine yet as mine aren't due but I'm pretty sure they will do

Oh, £25 doesn't seem too bad, especially if they get a good check up, too :)

I think I paid around £20 for both jabs at the PDSA, so it worked out at about £80 for the buns to have both vaccs. Still not much really though, when you think how long the jabs last...

I think they do have the new vaccine in - biscandmatt1 on here takes her buns there and she recently posted that they had the new vaccine, so unless I'm putting 2 and 2 together and making 17, I reckon they do!

Thank you! I'd be more surprised if they didn't, as they're specialists, but thought I'd check first. Also wanted to see how much they charged before booking them in- I don't know how much it varies from vet to vet :?

bisc and matt had theirs nearly 4 weeks ago and they were £39 each.

ashleigh vets is great. the vet we see, aidan, is amazing. and the staff who look after the pets if they stay in are lovely. there are a couple of rude and unhelpful receptionists though, but ignore them because it's worth it for the vet.

when we first started going, it did seem expensive compared to our old (useless!) vets but it is worth it for how good the vet is. also when you have been going a while, they don't charge consult fees and give really good discounts. and they are also happy for you to pay at a later date if the animal needs treatment and you don't have the money at the time. we have had to do this twice and the vet was great about it. :)

I have used Ashleighs vets, for a spay and a couple of visits for Simba's snuffles.

She has always seen Aidan and I have been more than happy with the results. Yes, definitely more expensive than your average vets but worth it to know your bun is in good hands.

Aidan explained alot about "snuffles" that I wasn't already aware of. Luckily, we didn't have to go down the root of investigation under anaesthetic as the infection cleared with a long course of medication and Simba has an alergy to dust (which can be controlled).

I was terrified when she was spayed, but they were great and even called the next day to find out how she was.

Thank you both for your help! £39 doesn't seem too bad for a year's worth of protection! I think I'll phone them up (and will brace myself for the receptionists ;) ), and book them in. It's only about 10 minutes away, too, so that's a bonus :D Hopefully I won't be needing them for anything serious for a long time, but it's good to know there's a good specialist nearby in an emergency. Thanks again! :thumb:

oh thought the same about receptionists, but saw your vet adn he was thorough and very good, as was vet nurse with him

Receptionists were fine with me, but can believe what you're saying!

Receptionist at Ped Medics in Worsley were just downright rude, in my opinion. The vets weren't much better. #I remember taking Simba when her snuffles were really bad one time late at night and the vet pretty much laughed in my face. Perscribed 0.1ml of metacam for 5 days....useless for a medium sized bun
