Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Found a lump on Twinkle yesterday, why do thing always happen on a Sunday!

Anyway rang the emergency vet for advice and they said it was ok to leave till today.

Just got back from my vet and yes it is a mammary tumour, its loose and soft and about the size of your thumb nail. Its just the one there doesnt appear to be any on any other nipples.

Shes going in on Monday for it removing by Trudy whos the bunny expert. The vet seemed 100% certain that it will be fine, might even be glued instead of stitched.

Twinkle toes is a rew that we rescued she wasnt spayed till we got her at 5 and half, shes just gone 6, we think. The vet reckons we could/should get another 4/5 years yet which is great.

Ive decided not to get it tested, the cost did come into it cos weve just done £300 last week on one of the cats and also because whether we test or not, if she got another lump we would have her straight back in again. The vet did say they can give an opinion as to whether its likely to be nasty or not.

So heres to next Monday, luckily I have an understanding boss so I am starting late and finishing late to fit it all in.

Aww, hope she okay. All I can say is that my old bun, Daisy, had a mammary tumour (a nasty one as it turned out) removed when she was nearly 8 (she lived until nearly 10) and she seemed to cope well with the op, though I was a mess at the time I remember:shock: Good luck to your bun - let us know how she gets on xx
