  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Can anyone recommend a decent vets in or around Barnsley? We're in Darfield, so somewhere near Wombwell, Barnsley etc. I don't just want to sign up to any old one.

I use Rebecca at Abbey Vets at the Cudworth Branch I've been using this one the last 7 years and it's only ever Rebecca thats at this Branch 

A bun that I took in a few months ago needs looking at as despite improving dramatically, she still has a poorly bottom (I originally thought it was due to diet change) and I'm having to clean her every day.

And whilst her welfare comes first, I don't want to pay a ridiculous amount for a consultation.

I'm not hundred percent sure how much a consultation but she's very good with bunnys 

Think I'll have a look at Abbey then since there's one in Wombwell.

Different vets are at different branches so you may not see the lady that wendle recommends.

Although all animals that need G.A go to main Barnsley branch even though you take them to your local branch.

Angie & Tracey at BARC may be able to give you more info.
