Hi everyone

Since Domino passed on the weekend I have decied to find a new vet.

Can anyone recommend or does anyone know of a bunny savvy vet near Farnham, surrey?

I already asked the local pets at home companion care, although the vet said they know alot about rabbits, they are not techincally a specialist, ideally id like to fine one that is.

 How close are you to Windlesham? Gill Tose at Windlesham Village Vets is excellent - all 7 of my buns are there now

Hiya! Thanks, I am about 30 mins from Windlesham, so ideally I would like something a little closer, but Ill certainly bear that in mind as its do-able thank you!!

I don't know of any bunny specialists in the immediate area. Like you I contacted the new companion care vet, and he told me the same thing (he must wonder what is going on with all these bunny people quizzing him ).

I use a vet in Milford. They are not bunny specialists either, and don't claim to be, but I have been pleased with them, and the care/meds they give seem to equate to what others on here receive. They also seem to be verly keen at the moment to improve their practices for bunnies, and one vet in particular has a particular interest in buns, and has been going to conferences/courses about them. They have consulted a specialist for me in the past, and will refer if a problem is beyond them.

If you are looking for a specialist rabbit vet though, I think Windlesham is probably the closest (I have searched far and wide!). There is a surgery in Afold (I think) that has a visiting exotic specialist, but that is probably at least 30 mins for you, as I think it is that far for me.

ETA: forgot, but this one has also been recommended to me before http://www.kynochvets.co.uk/surgeries.aspx. Not sure how far those surgeries are from you? I think it is Ivan Crotaz who is the bunny vet.

 Ivan is at the Harmens Water branch which is further away so that's why I didn't suggest him. Kate is at the Crowthorne Branch and she is also an excellent rabbit Vet. I didn't suggest that as it's country roads therefore probably longer to get to but both are worth the drive.

hope that helps

Thanks Jill. Distance/travel time is the reason I haven't moved my buns to Windlesham/Ivan. It's such a shame as I would love to use one of those vets, but when one of my buns is quite a stress-head, it seems better for him to go to the local one which is just 5 mins down the road, and where we get good care, just not specialist care. It's nice to know there are really good bunny vets not a million miles away if we needed another opinion.

Chloe, I hope you find somewhere good that you can get to easily enough :)
