Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Help please

My bun had a spayed yesterday and isn't really eating she nibbling hay and munching a little basil she on critical care metacam fiberplex ad a gut stimulant she hates all of em. she also hated the indoor cage so she is in her own run in my conservatory which she is used to next to harder mate.

You might find that she will be more comfortable with her friend if they are separated.

Can you tempt her with a bunny buffet? what foods are you offering?

My rabbit took about a day and a half to fully start eating etc after her spay. Maybe she is just trying to get used to feeling 'different'...

wen Jessie was spayed last year it took her about 5 days to get back to normality. She was nibbling after a day but it was so much effort to eat anything, she really was feeling sorry for herself. The only thing you can do is be persistent and keep offering her food, in the end I think Jessie just started eating so I would leave her alone!

Sounds like she is on all the right stuff, the metacam is really important as if she is in pain which is quite likely, she just wont eat.

Dandelion leaves always seem to go down well, maybe try these if you havent already.

Lots of love always goes down well too, lots of vibes for her xxx:love:

oh and is she going to the toilet? you need to keep a real close eye on toilet activity... x

He is in another hutch. 3 different types of hay dried dandlion and oat dried herb salad little crunch biscuits fresh basil didn't know if i should try carrot strips she nor drinking from her eater bottle just a bowl at the moment

when honey was spayed a few months back she was only having dried dandilions for days! hay here and there but not much- if you ever get really worried call your vet for reassurance but it does take time with the girlies. i was a nervous wreck for days!!! have you tried banana? fresh herbs like basil/parsley? leaves from the garden you know she likes?

I would give her anything at this point, just not too much of things like carrot.

Do you want my not so secret bunny recovery recipe? Porridge cooked with water and a few chunks of apple and banana. It can be pureed to syringe feed too. In my experience they love it and it just give them that little boost and gets them excited about food again.

It's good if she's drinking from a water bowl  she will just be a little bit off with having her spay she will start eating if she's nibbling hay an having little bits and drinking 

Doughnut had hers last year. The pain relief got her eating again. I found fresh herds such as dill is tempting. The last thing she started eating were her pellets which are normally her favourite. I put the medicine on a bit of weetabix which she loved and less stressful for both of us. Id be surprised if the weetabix is turned down as my friend tried it with her bunny too.

Thank you everyone for your comments and advice. I syringe fed her last night gave her meds as well she was so scared fighting me and really stressed. overnight i stayed in the conservatory with her and she was nibbling most of the night. today most times i check on her she is nibbling. i not given and critical care as she seems happy munching her food which is the most she has done in the last couple of days. she is more lively as well
i just hope she is o the road to recovery i didn't realise it would be this hellish and stressful i not slept or eaten for 2 days i just feel sick about the whole thing and wish i never took her.. thank you all once again

weetabix is good as it soaks it in. I saw a rabbit specialist and weetabix if fine for them. I don't give it to her normally as I think it's a treat and not that great but a good way to get her to take meds.

you did the right thing for her in the long run, as Im sure you know the risks of cancer in unspayed doe's are extremely high as well as all the hormonal issues too. She will be grateful and happier for it when she gets over the operation. Glad she is eating, lots of vibes for a full recovery xx:love:
