  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

She is telling her mate she wants to be pregnant. It is quite normal. If she was neutered she wouldn't do this. It can be very frustrating for both of them; he cant give her what she wants and it causes stress especially at this time of the year.

I have a very similar problem, except both my male and female are neutured. I had to separate them as my boy was getting so bald. I have nothing to add unfortunately as I rebonded them and the problem continued. They are separated again now and I am going to rebond them again at the weekend and see if I have any luck. I will be watching this thread with interest :)

It would be unusual for her to do it on his face for this reason. I would be more inclined to think that she knows something is wrong with him and wants to fix it.

yeah on the sidev of his face under his eye

I suspect he has a medical problem there (or has had, for example a small scab). A trip to the vets would be sensible for a full dental check and a full examination of his head.
