What's the craziest thing you've ever done for your buns?

I'm wondering?

I just put the parasol up in the garden for mine - it's a massive 2 metre jobby, that was put away for winter, but it's so hot today! Tango is now lying under it looking very content. :)

It seems so far from when I was young and kept a bun on his own, in a 3 x2 hutch, fed him on rabbit muesli, celery and cucumber and he went out in a triangular run maybe once or twice a month! I'm so thankful for forums like this, and I bet others have done crazy things for their buns!

I slept in the conservatory on the floor when I had to move Frankie into a different hutch as her sister was fighting with her, so she wasn't scared!!

It was freezing, I felt like all my bones had broken from laying on the floor, and she was probably more scared with me being there than if I hadn't been, I had less than 2 hours sleep in total

I slept in an open tent in the back garden whilst bonding Daisy and Digby in their kennel, everyone thought I was nuts!!!

Travelled 200/5hrs miles to pick her up?
Travelled 100/2hrs miles to get her to a specialist?

I wouldnt say they were crazy, just things we choose to do for our buns.

i got a very odd look at a car boot when i bought a childs patio set for my guys and told the man selling it what is was for!

When OH and I bought our appartment (our first owned home) we renovated it entirely to meet the buns needs :oops: Seems crazy now but they are so happy and its very convenient for me as their carer too! :D

I would deem it under the brackes of 'do what you have to do' rather than crazy.

I stayed up for three nights straight with Sky when he was neutered to ensure he didn't remove his stitches (he had an inguinal testicle so they had to go in through his abdomen).

I slept in the freezing cold spare room (windows wide open) when it was minus temps, so the room was very, very cold, bonding someone elses bunnies

I slept with the patio doors open and my inside, on the floor, when Sandy and Roger were bonding.

I'm also lost my bedroom and accept that grudgingly it is their room and I just lodge in it.

Oh, and when I bought my new car I made sure I could fit all the bunnies in, and a bale of hay, so that if there is ever a need to evacuate, I can take them all and not have to make a choice. For one single adult, I have a rather large people carrier now

I too have done the sleeping on the floor when ill, driving miles for pick up and vets appointments.

What about cleaning Herbies scent glands, now that's crazy rank!

Remembered another!

I leave the radio on for Lola if we are out and the neighbours are in. Next door is a DIY freak, and the noise of it scares her sometimes. Now that in itself isn't necessarily crazy, but the fact I scan through to find an interesting station for her might be

Foraging for Mimis caecotrophs and feeding them to her was pretty  too!

Not me... but the OH.

OH drove us to the emergency vets on Christmas night after having quite a bit to drink  Bramble was severely ill though and the vet couldn't come to us.

We're both glad we did it though, it was worth it. Plus, it was 2/3am in the morning so no cars on the road.

Cleaned the trio's huge hutch out at midnight because I was bored and felt guilty for leaving it too long  and I had to use a really dim light from the garage, took ages

Aww, some lovely stories here, and def a few that are a little crazy ;)

The driving replies reminded me, I once drove 120 miles round trip to rehome a FISH! And stopped every so often to check s/he was ok. :D Fish was very happy in her new home tho.

I live for the bunnies so most things I do are for them!

Heck during winter/autumn I rushed home to put lights on for the babies..even though I know they're not bothered...but I hate for them to be in the dark :(

:D:love:

Sat out in tha back garden all night when a baby bunnie had escaped and I knew t was somwhere in the garden but it was hidiing and we could't find it incase a fox got her

Insisted that when we extended the garden it was made fully rabbit proof  and insisting that the plants we will be putting in are totally rabbit friendly

I dont do crazy things, Im totally rational ;)

Oh I do the light thing too! Our patio light stays on now for the bunnies! Just until I put their rug down over the hutch to tuck them up in bed! Tho my daft buns all sleep with their bums to the mesh rather than in the nice bedroom bits.

 I put the light on for my buns every night too! I only turn it off when I go to bed.

I've laid with Fiver under the covers and with my arms round him to keep him warm after a bad GA recovery, I did this for about an hour after I got him home and then periodically through out the night  I don't see this as crazy but I know most people would think so.

Drove a neglected bun to Barnsley so she would get the care she needed from a proper bunny rescue. :)

Gave them my bedroom to destroy as they wish. :thumb: Lets just say my parents weren't amused with that.

Running around the garden after Fiver waving my arms like a maniac because he finds it hilarious and races off binkying.. That's probably the craziest thing I do
