Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

preparations for bailey coming home after neutuering??

New Kit
My lil boy bailey bunny has had to go in for neutuering today. In preparation for him coming home this afternoon do I need to make any adjustments! ? I've pulled his ramp out and was advised by vet to leave it out and keep him on one level for 10 days till his check up! Does he need to be any warmer? Softer bedding? And picking him up I'm guessing is a no for a few days? I'm sure the vet can help but I just can't wait to get him home all the questions will vanish when I see him, Any advice would be great thank you.

Hey. I had a nice surprise at thd vers this morning so thank you for that.

There's an article on my website about having an operation that it might be worth reading. In addition to what you said he will need some warmth and pain relief for the following days and also you'll need to closely monitor his intake and output.

That's ok!:) ok, thank you ill look at that when I get him home! Had a call he's happy and well, picking him up at 3:30.

I picked up Rupert to check his wound each day and he seemed ok with this. Also, I removed ramps but after 24 hrs he decided it would be Fun to jump instead which gave me a fright!! Didn't seem to do any long term damage though
