  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Hi all

could you please send some get well vibes for my gummy bunny gizmo. I took him vets today along with my other 3 to see if he and them had mites. Gizmo has mites but the other three were fine. they are all putting on weight [as they should during winter] but gizmo had lost 0.4kg.
His coat is dull and he is out of sorts. He has been taken in for further tests. including
:teeth check [the back ones]
bloods
urine
xray
they think he may be diabetic as he is subdude and has been weeing in his bed. He seems ok in himself when he is out but in the hutch he is up in his bed most of the time. They are not ruling out behavioural problems. Perhaps it is alex bullying him. We just dont know. The Vet who is very rabbit savy has said she will do everything she can to get to the bottom of his problems but at the same time try and keep the cost down. I told her not to worry about the cost i just want my gizmo better.:cry::cry::cry:

Sat by the phone now waiting for it to ring with news.

I'm so sorry; it must be a huge worry, especially coming so unexpectedly. Lots of vibes for Gizmo. xxx
