  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Update on my rabbit that won't move

Saddy to say my rabbit del of 1 and a half years died this morning around 7am .

After rushing to the vets last night the surgery was closed so by the time I got home trying to get a hold of the vet on the emergency number he started to eat a small amount and drink a bit of water .
When we got a hold of the vet half a hour later she just tolded us to keep a eye on him it was good he was eating and drinking abit !

I got up at 5 am couldn't sleep he was hoping about a little most to pee and poo .
I got him out of his cage and had some cuddles and tried to relax him a bit he enjoyed it but placing him back in his cage he just never had energy to get up I called the vet again and she told me she was going to open the surgery early to examine him and X-ray him .
By the time I run up for a shower and came back down he had passed !

My doe looks very lost in the cage herself I want to cry !
