  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Vet today

Hi everyone, Parsnip and Pixie are off to the vets later today. Both have been fine for a few days, just a bit 'off colour' although still eating and pooping. I opened them up this morning and both only nibbled their breaki and left half of it - unheard of as they are both usually 'starving' in the mornings!! I've a feeling it could be their teeth as they are happy in every other way. I noticed last night it took them ages to eat the slice of carrot I put in front of them so perhaps they are a bit sore in the mouth. I'll know more later when I've seen the vet. Poor bunnies, Pixie will be fine but dear Parsnip always wets himself when he goes to the vet. At least they will have each other for company

All was ok and their teeth were fine, they were a tiny bit sharp but the vet said nothing to worry about. I'm just going to keep an eye on them both. Parsnip was very good as he didn't even wet himself this time - such a brave boy!! Typically this morning they are both really hungry and tucked into everything!! Little monkeys
