Final photos of bonding - much less porn this time

Rhianna

Wise Old Thumper
Day one of bonding four of my buns.

Dylan (the grey bun) is an elderly bun who has seen many buns come and go and has been one of a six. Molly (pure white REW) was adopted with her two baby daughters who are now both sadly at the Bridge. Has also been one of a six. Bumble (white with dark eyeliner), a partially sighted BARC bun who bonded himself to Dylan and Molly. Frangipan (white with black splodges), another BARC bun who is not yet fully grown.

There has been lots of humping and circling but no actual fighting - I am very pleased so far, but it's still early days.

All that humping...Like Sky-O said, The Bunny Queue!!!!

Excellent!!! Long may it continue!!!

They are all snuggled up at one corner of the pen and seem happy. I've had flops from all of them apart from Frangipan. Bumble and Frangipan seem to be accepting each other. I adopted her from BARC to be his wife but he then bonded himself with Molly and Dylan. He sleeps alone though so needs his own wife to snuggle with who can be his eyes when he goes totally blind.

I know it is very early days but so far it has gone much, much better than I expected given that Bumble is a special needs bun, Dylan is elderly and Frangipan is still very young.

I've felt confident leaving them to use the toilet and make a drink - which is a huge relief. I even had a shower earlier, although didn't risk washing my hair too.

They are in my bedroom so I will be sleeping with them all night.

Fingers and paws crossed all continues to go well tomorrow. I don't want to keep them in for too long as they are outdoor buns but will have to wait until there are a few mild days due before they go outside again. Hopefully, sometime next week when I am back at work again.

Have turned the heating off and the window in my bedroom is the original of the house which is 100 years old so the wind whistles through. I will be sleeping in my dressing gown tonight. Have had the window open all day today as well and it was no warmer inside than outside.

It all looks very positive, well done! Looks like they are practising the conga for their summer holidays.

Am feeling very tired. Lots of noisy humping last night and this morning. Fran keeps chewing the newspaper too - noisily. She did that before when she was alone in her pen.

I've given them some pellets, spring greens and fresh hay to distract them a bit while I feed the other buns, cats and guinea-pig and have a shower. The hay is going down rapidly which is great as Molly and Dylan don't usually eat much hay. Hopefully, Bumble and Fran will teach them healthy ways of being a bun - and not BARC ways of nortiness.

Although there is a lot of humping there is no fighting, biting or fur flying.

Dylan is my main concern as he is so old. At the moment he seems to be taking it all in his stride and just letting the young 'uns get on with it. If he becomes stressed I will take him and Molly out and just bond Bumble with Fran and divide the yard in half - and hope Bumble doesn't escape again.

A four would mean they all have much more space but I won't compromise Dylan's health to achieve this. He is such a gentle old man I couldn't bear to cause him stress.

More vibes would be appreciated if anyone has any spare.

Sending more vibes but it doesnt sound right now like you need them. I expect there would be a lot more humping in a quad, as there's a more complex hierarchial structure to work out between them :)

Sending them anyway

Thanks Graham.

I just so want this to work as it would mean more space for all four buns. Also, being sadly realistic, it would make life just a tiny bit easier for Molly when Dylan does go to the Bridge. I consider every day with him a bonus as he is on daily metacam and is an elderly bunster. At the moment he is fairly inactive but has a good quality of life as he enjoys his food and snuggles - human and furry. Molly had a sore eye recently and Dylan groomed her for ages after I'd bathed her eye and put drops in.

On a warm day he does explore the yard and once the better weather arrives and he can go on the grass and lie in the sun he will be really happy.

Bumble is coping very well with the bonding, which is a relief as he has such poor sight. Frangipan was so lonely she is just enjoying snuggling (and humping) everybun in turn. It is fascinating to watch but I haven't had to intervene once yet, although have said 'no' a couple of times when the humping has become a little too violent.

Just hope they are a bit quieter tonight.

 OOOOOOOO Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for taking the time to do this thread. I'm watching with anticipation as I would love to create my dream quad for pretty much the same reasons.

When I bonded just two, my nerves were like glass, I'm so impressed at your nerves of steel doing four

Sounds like its all heading the right way because you have a mix of temprements, would you mind me being nosey and asking a couple of questions?

How big is your bonding pen? Have the 3 buns had any previous contact with Frangipan eg: in cages/runs next to each other prior to bonding?

I'm busy scribbling notes as we speak!

Huge amounts of vibes sent your way, keep up the good work.:D

I think that might be what was missing with mine. There was hardly any humping, Nutmeg doesn't allow herself to be humped, at all and I don't think they were able to fully sort out their heirarchy.

Hope it goes well and starts to settle down soon.

You should try again ;)

The bonding pen is probably a bit too big but if I took two panels out it would have been too small as Bumble, Molly and Dylan were used to having a huge amount of space outside. I will measure it when I find a ruler. It is one panel wide and two panels in length but I had to put it by the side of my bed so that is the size that fit

Frangipan hadn't even seen the other buns before as she was indoors and they were outside. I just put them in together and watched ready to pounce if it became violent.

Will take some more photos. They are all much quieter at the moment. Just sitting - I think they are feeling a bit hemmed in as there isn't any room for them to run or climb in the pen.
