I have a wee 6mnth old mini lop who I took on about 3months ago
Hes now neutered, and bonded with a 2yr old netherland dwarf.
Because they have been outside during the winter, they have been happy enough.
They have 24/7 access to an attached run, and have a 3 level hutch.
The wee brown lop has a broken front leg from before I got him, it healed bent, and vet said as long
as I kept an eye on nails, that he was ok with a bent front leg
I noticed in the last wk or so, a long thin trail of matted hair hanging from his back leg, and when we caught him
for a closer look, his whole tummy, back legs, tail and broken leg were pee soaked and stank.
I brought him into the house, cut as much matting off as I could, bathed him in mild baby shampoo, dried him with hair dryer and put him back out with his friend.
He doesnt smell as much now, but am wondering if this is going to be a continual problem for him?
Im worried about flystrike during the summer if he obviously cant groom himself properly down there?
was thinking he may need shaved short underneath and round the tail area to keep it clean?
Its been such a damp and wet winter, which hasnt helped.
any ideas/advice? I cant bring them indoors, as I have a whippet.
but they are being moved from the hutch, to a dog shed/run combo this week, so they wont be exposed to elements as much.
