  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

West Sussex rabbit vet needed!? Near Chichester.

It is quite along way, but if the vet today doesn't do anything to help Pebbles then I really need to take hin to a more specialist rabbit vet. One hour until appointment at my vet but I'm worried he's not even going to make it to then :(

My vet isn't a specialist rabbit vet, I must say that, he's just rabbit savy that's all but I had a feeling it was quite a long way. I think there are some others a little closer to you Emsworth way that a few members on here use. The nearest exotic vet to you is Andover and Salisbury on this side. If you need him, my vets name is Pablo Fuentes Bugnone and he is one of the directors at Companion Care Fareham (inside P@H) Park Gate, Fareham.

I think Debbie (purplebumble) sees vets at Downland in Emsworth who are pretty good. If you do a search on the site I think she has listed the bunny savvy vets there - or you could ask if you 'phone.

Another thought. Cat and Rabbit Rescue in Sidlesham (near Chichester) use someone called Marcus. He must be bunny savvy as he does all their vet work. You could ask them where he's based.

Hi, saw a vet who I respect today and was much happier when I came home to see that Pebbles was moving about and munched a couple of leaves.

Although worried again now as looking more grouchy again and not wanting to eat any hay at all :(

The CAt and Rabbit in Sidlesham is ver ear to me, do they share their vet??! He must be a rabbit expert?!! or at leats have seen alot of buns!

He's not 'their' vet but he comes to the rescue regularly to treat the cats and bunnies there. I think he has a practice nearby but I'm unsure where. You could give them a ring and find out. They take calls after 4.00 pm every day.
