  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Bumping vaccines so they match

Sebastians due his jabs this month, Imogens not due her myxi for another 2 months would you just bump hers up so they match? :?

(her VHD was done in December and Sebastians is due this month, Im guessing its too soon to have that done aswell?)

You can bring them forward so they're in line, but I'm not sure by just how much - I brought Bubbles' myxi forward by about a mth when I got her.

The myxi may well be possible but I would say that Imogen's vhd was given too recently to be repeated. It would take a while to bring them in line but you could start bringing Sebastian's vhd forward a little each time though. :D

Although not ideal our vet said that you could give then 2 myxi injections and it wouldn't harm them. It was mentioned because when a rescue picks a rabbit up as a stray you have no idea of history and there is always the chance that the rabbit has recently been vaccinated and just escaped but it would still be Ok to get them vaccinated again at the rescue :)
