  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Great Vets in Shropshire!

Hi

Just wanted to say how pleased I am with the new vets I have found in Shropshire....Severn Edge! :D

They were recommended by both Rabbit Welfare and RCVS but I was hesitant to go to them because they used Cylap for their VHD vaccinations :(.

(I am fairly new to rabbits but I have been learning so much from this Forum and wanted to avoid using this brand). I thought I had nothing to lose by asking if they would be willing to get another brand in for my three rabbits so plucked up the courage to ask. Its a bit of a long story but briefly.......

One of the Vets, David, said he had not personally come across any problems but his wife, another Vet, had come across some concerns over Cylap on Veterinary Forums so he did some research himself. Subsequently, he spoke to the Partners in the practice and after an anxious few weeks, David has called to say that they now have Anivac in stock !

The Vets, David and Liz and all the staff I have met so far (Donnington Branch) have been really helpful and friendly. I am so pleased that they took the time to listen to my concerns and then go on to do their own research and be willing to change brand!
