  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

neutering a buck price ?

Prices vary as all Practices set their own rates.

It could be anything from about £60 to £110. Best to ask your Vet for a quote

Your Buck will remain fertile for at least 2 weeks after neutering, possibly even 4 weeks. So it is important that he has no contact with an entire Doe during that time.

Depends on your vet  Out vet costs £33 for neuter and £52 for spays :) Could be more though :)

There are lots of does on rabbit rehome looking for husbuns ;)

Good on you for having good plans for your bunny :)

The price of a neuter varies completely depending on your area or vet. My vet charges somewhere around £70 for a neuter.

For getting a girlie friend, your best bet is to contact a reputable rescue (one who spays/neuters and vaccinates) and adopt a girl who is already spayed. :)

If you're not sure whether or not you have a good vet, you can start a thread saying 'rabbit savvy vet wanted near X' (with your nearest town being X) and you will hopefully get some recommendations- if you're in the UK that is :)

My last one was £60 including follow up check, pain killers etc

DO make sure its a rabbit savvy vet as rabbits have specific needs for their anaesthetic and preparation for surgery:wave:
